Community Gardens

Crabtree Farms promotes backyard and community gardening in Chattanooga through education, outreach and plant sales. Crabtree’s annual Spring Plant Sale and Fall Plant Sale offer organically grown perennial and annual flowers as well as quality vegetable starts to Chattanooga’s community of gardeners. Crabtree holds a free Organic Gardening 101 lecture during the plant sales as well. With grant funding in 2009, Crabtree Farms helped to launch 7 new community garden groups in the Chattanooga area.

Why Community Gardening?

Community Gardens encourage families, neighborhoods, schools, churches and youth to work together for a common goal and to be more aware of the foods they eat. They beautify neighborhoods and cities, encourage community connections and educate adults and children about how food grows.
