TasteBuds Local Food Guide
At Crabtree Farms, it is our goal to connect Chattanoogans with our local food shed. We do this through several projects including the TasteBuds Local Food Guide, the Downtown Local Food Map, and the Local Food Trade Directory.
TasteBuds is Chattanooga’s FREE guide to finding locally grown and crafted foods! It provides a listing of of local farms, farmer’s markets, CSA programs, restaurants, grocers, food artisans, pick-your-own programs, local food events and local food news. You can use it to find local food in Chattanooga!
And, this year it is available in a print or online version. Click here to visit TasteBuds Online.
Copies of the printed TasteBuds can be found at one of our several partner locations downtown, or by calling 423-493-9155, x10. You can also click here to download the printed version of TasteBuds.

Downtown Local Food Map
The Downtown Local Food Map is YOUR guide to finding restaurants, farmers’ markets, and food artisans in Downtown Chattanooga. These
establishments regularly purchase or offer ingredients and whole foods from regional farms, an effort that supports the local food economy and offers diners a distinct culinary experience.
The Downtown Local Food Map was created by Crabtree Farms and is made possible by Gaining Ground and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Local Food Trade Directory
The Local Food Trade Directory was created to build connections between Chattanooga area food producers and buyers. It lists farms, restaurants, grocery stores, and food artisans.
Direct transactions provide chefs with the freshest produce and products available while keeping food dollars in the hands of our local food producers.

Map of the counties in a 100 mile radius of Chattanooga
Did you know that on average food travels 1300 miles from farm to table over 7 to 14 days?
Did you know that on average, farmer’s receive less than 10% of the food dollar?
Purchasing food from a local farm is not only a fun experience, it ensures:
- You are getting the healthiest food available with more nutrients than food that travels long distances.
- You are reducing your carbon foot print, by limiting transportation of your food, saving oil and reducing greenhouse gases.
- You are keeping your spending dollars local, helping to grow Chattanooga’s economy.
- You are supporting fair farming practices by paying the farmer 100% of the food dollar.
