Novice & new-to canners welcome! This “class” is about learning while doing. Together we will “put up” at least 1 quart of tomatoes per person. Along the way, we’ll demonstrate different approaches to tomato canning, discuss the possible risks & how to mitigate them, and have a lot of sweaty tomato juice-filled fun along the way.
The product you take home will be most similar to 1 quart of crushed tomatoes. We will also have tomato sauce and juice puree on the stove for demonstration & discussion.
We are providing the supplies, including farm-fresh tomatoes and jars, for use during the class. You’ll go home with a minimum of a 1 quart jar of tomatoes and the confidence to tackle tomato canning on you own in the future.
***There are two price options. The first one, we provide the tomatoes. The second one, you bring 10 pounds of tomatoes with you.
