3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Join Kaleena Goldsworthy for an afternoon of learning all about creating conscious cocktails and working with local farms (YAY!!!) to turn local produce into a tasty drink whether for yourself or an upcoming gathering. This class is great for those new to creating cocktails as well as those who already have some background in this area. Many of the techniques learned through this class can branch into preservation of the flavors and health benefits of the plants (turning things into shrubs, syrups, or liqueurs, etc.)
About the Facilitator: Kaleena Goldsworthy was born in Maryland and raised in upstate New York. After suffering through many years of excessive snow, she felt it was time to move to a warmer climate and found herself in Chattanooga only six months after visiting it for the first time. The fine folks at Flying Squirrel gave Kaleena her first job behind a bar and she instantly fell in love with the hospitality industry, the history of craft cocktails, and the food and beverage industry. To further her education and understanding of spirits and their origins, she started studying herbalism, began volunteering at Crabtree Farms, and traveled the world to study under the industry’s leading innovators, master distillers, and influencers. This knowledge, combined with her love of the cocktail industry, led her to start her own business, The Bitter Bottle. The Bitter Bottle is a modern apothecary of cocktail solutions focused on using organic and locally sourced ingredients to create small batch bitters and tinctures here in Chattanooga, TN. She also continues to focus on education, creating drinks, and sharing all of this with the community through assisting small businesses (specifically bars) to create and maintain innovative, cost effective cocktails programs.
