Home Scale Food Production – Design, Plan and Implement a Family-Sized Garden

In this workshop we will explore the home garden and how to begin meeting our own consumption needs.  We will discuss design principles, review examples of productive home-scale gardens, and go over everything from seed starting to ordering equipment to processing food.

Participants will:

-Examine design principles for home scale gardens

-Set their family’s food production goals and expectations

-Review examples of appropriate techniques and technology

-Create a budget to meet their goals

-Create their own garden design

-Receive feedback on their plans


There will be a 1hr. lunch break, so bring your own lunch or plan to grab a bite nearby.

Crabtree Farms is observing health mandates due to COVID-19, therefore class capacity is 15 participants. Distancing and other safety measures will be practiced and masks are required.
