Description: This 2-hour introduction to permaculture workshop touches on the key features of a 10-14 day permaculture design course. Every community and property has resources and assets—human, natural and financial. How can we effectively design food systems that responsibly manage these resources in order to create abundance for ourselves, our neighbors, and non-human community members? This workshop will touch on small-scale farming, backyard gardening, soil health, animal systems and enterprise development.
-Examine the history, ethics and principles of permaculture.
-Apply these ethics and principles to local agriculture, land management and small business.
-Explore how permaculture techniques can apply on properties of different scale and location—rural, suburban, or urban.
-Create a practice design for their own property or business.
-Give and receive feedback on their practice designs.
Bringing a computer and notepad is encouraged.
